Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Larry's death on the Inernational Zeolite Association Web Site. His scientific contributions were substantial. He wil be missed.

I was a post-doctoral fellow in Larry's group from 1984 to 1986. The first time I left the UK. It was one of the most enjoyable times I have had during my scientific career. The group was dynamic and friendly, a tone set by Larry himself who would always work as hard as he would play. Much of what I learnt during that period in Houston I still use in my work today. The sailing community has experienced a great loss with Larry's passing. As a fellow Level 70 racer, I can say the bay waters will never be the same without seeing Larry behind the wheel of Electron. He was a very kind man who never had a bad thing to say. He always had a smile on his face and always made a point to say Hi. I take great comfort in knowing that Galveston Bay has a guardian angel watching over us.

Forever in our thoguhts and prayers,

I was so fortunate that Larry invited me to crew on his boat during a regatta, which I ultimately met my husband. The sailing community will miss Larry very much.
