Larry could tell great stories. This is a story he told on himself. I'm not sure if it happened to him or someone else but I'm going to tell it on him. Larry was a pillar of the community. If you needed help with anything, Larry was the man for the job. His knowledge and good old boy attitude were just what was needed to fix any problem. From being a master musician of any string instrument to a master mechanic, Larry could make it work. I am thankful to have grown up around both Larry and Betty and call them my friends.

Larry was a great musician, story teller and friend. He was gifted with a great sense of humor. I will always remember his stories of growing up in Dillsboro; about trying to float the Tuckasegee River on a home made raft made from glass jugs from the Jarrett House. It didn't go well.
