Larry Staiger Obituary

Larry April 7, 1939 - D. Staiger Larry D. Staiger, aged 86, passed away peacefully at home with family at his side from complications of Parkinson's Disease.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Kathy, of almost 40 years, their children David, Diane, Khris, Karen, Nicole, four grandchildren, and his brother Virgil.
Larry had many fond memories of growing up in Lemmon SD. He graduated in 1958 from Lemmon High School. He stayed in touch with several classmates, including his best friend Vaughn, and enjoyed returning for class reunions.
Growing up in the 50's meant he loved all that came with that-hot rods, Elvis Presley, and 501 Levi's with a white T-shirt.
If you knew Larry, you knew that he was a car guy. His immaculate garage was a testament of this love, from classic custom cars from the 50's to the latest and greatest. Kathy knew that every weekend her car would be washed, vacuumed, and she'd have a full tank of gas.
He was always kind and thoughtful. Even when he was no longer able to do so himself, he made sure that Kathy got cards and flowers on special days. He was his happiest being at home with her and the dogs, sitting on the deck with one of her famous margaritas in hand.
Larry was a proud man. Proud to be a veteran. Proud of his family and home. Proud of his long career at Boeing.
One of his favorite spots was his driveway chair, where he sat enjoying the sun, listening to his music and working on his farmer's tan, waving and chatting with friends and neighbors as they passed by. He was always ready to share a beer, a chat, and a laugh.
He liked things to be in order, and just so, and we liked to tease him about it.
Larry is leaving behind a big void that will be hard to accept. Holidays and family gatherings just won't be the same and he will be terribly missed.
A memorial service for Larry will be held on July 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, 804 State Ave, Marysville, WA, with refreshments to follow. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Northwest The Parkinson's Foundation at https://nwpf.org/.

My condolences to Larry´s family. He was my general manager when I first started at Boeing. Back then we called them Generals (the manager of the floor managers) He was fair, competent and a nice person. We all respected him. When he retired that was the end of an era. I´m sorry to hear that he passed.
