Not sure what to say?

When I first moved here from LA in '98, I was disappointed to not feel the 'Soul of the South'... not until I watched "Georgia Backroads" on PBS and heard Larry's songs and incredible voice. He expressed his feelings and views in ways no one else ever has, and his music touches me like no other.
Thank you, Steve, for providing this online guest book where I've been able to read and learn more about his life and what a terrific man he was.

Larry Jon, thanks for sharing your heart and life with us through your music!

I never had the pleasure of meeting Larry Jon in person, but I have been a devoted fan since the mid-70's. There will never be another Larry Jon, and surely we will all miss him dearly amd hold his music and memory close to our hearts! My sympathy to Larry Jon's family, and may God comfort you in your grief!

Tyler and Family, We are sorry to hear of the death of your father. I did not know him, but from the guest book entries, he must have been a wonderful man. We sympathize with you and your family. Best wishes to you and your wife on the birth of your baby. Sincerely, Dr. and Mrs. Ronald Jowers

My favorite songwriter, and one of the kindest people I ever met. I'll miss looking forward to that next opportunity to see him perform. The music he left behind will last forever, and I will certainly make it a point to make sure as many people as I possibly can, will hear it..
I have never played his music for ANYBODY that hasn't been blown away and become an instant fan...

R.I.P Larry Jon, and thank you for being so kind...
and inspirational...

When I grow up, I want to write songs like you, Larry Jon. Thank you for your gift to us all.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS,
IF LOVE COULD HAVE SAVED HIM, HE WOULD HAVE LIVED FOREVER,
MY MEMORIES OF LARRY ARE SO MANY AND HE BROUGHT JOY AND LAUGHTER TO ALL WHO KNEW HIM, MUSIC AND HIS FAMILY WERE HIS PASSION AND HE WILL BE REMEMBER FOR YEARS TO COME, CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HIM AGAIN,,,,GOD BLESS YOU ALL,

Larry Jon took me under his wing one year when I was attending the Frank Brown through the kindness of his great friend Mickey Newbury. I was privileged to join him for his concerts, and Mickey's, I was fed countless delicious meals from his magic cookbook as were many others, and introduced to and made welcome by both their many friends and relatives.

And when I had to catch an early plane he insisted on getting up before dawn and driving me himself, casually mentioning as the...

My sympathies to Larry Jon's family and many friends. I met him in Augusta in 1978 and enjoyed his stories, sense of humor, music and his larger than life personality. We will always enjoy his music.

My sincere sympathy to the Wilson family. Larry Jon and his wonderful creative musical talent will be missed by many. He was also such an interesting conversationalist and my friend Emily Baumann and I shared some fun times with him. His musical contributions made this a better world.
