Larry R. Wimmer, 77, of Coplay, died Friday, December 3, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.  Born in Allentown, September 27, 1944, Larry was the son of the late Arlene (Oswald) Wimmer. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era.  Larry was employed as a truck driver for many years before retiring. He loved car racing and collectable automobiles.


Survivors: Daughters, Laurie A. Wimmer of Coplay, Lori “Jane” Derr (Thomas) of Catasauqua; sisters, Joan Ebert (Sonny) of Northampton, Loretta Ballas (Gene) of Walnutport; grandchildren, Sarah, Stacie, John, Katie; great-grandchildren, Jaydin, Charlotte; several nephews; predeceased by brothers, Wayne Wimmer, Donald Wimmer.


Service: A graveside service with military honors will be held 10:00 am. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating.  No public calling hours. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements.  Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I loved your dad so much. He changed my life in ways I don't think he even knew. I so wish I could make the trip from Georgia but I cannot. May God grant ya all peace as you go forward.

We all had a lot of fun at Aunt Arlene's home. The Wimmer Clan: Bob, Skeet, Barry, Loretta, Joan, Wayne, Donnie and Larry. Our memories are unforgettable.

Sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. Deepest condolences to his family. He was a lifelong friend of my late Husband, Robert “Mitch” Mitchell. Mitch always referred to Larry as a Reliable Solid Friend.
