Larry Wimmer Obituary

Larry R. Wimmer, 77, of Coplay, died Friday, December 3, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. Born in Allentown, September 27, 1944, Larry was the son of the late Arlene (Oswald) Wimmer. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. Larry was employed as a truck driver for many years before retiring. He loved car racing and collectable automobiles.

Survivors: Daughters, Laurie A. Wimmer of Coplay, Lori "Jane" Derr (Thomas) of Catasauqua; sisters, Joan Ebert (Sonny) of Northampton, Loretta Ballas (Gene) of Walnutport; grandchildren, Sarah, Stacie, John, Katie; great-grandchildren, Jaydin, Charlotte; several nephews; predeceased by brothers, Wayne Wimmer, Donald Wimmer.

Service: A graveside service with military honors will be held 10:00 am. Friday, December 10, 2021 at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Road, Allentown with the Rev. Dr. David Charles Smith officiating. No public calling hours. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) c/o the funeral home, P.O. Box # 196, Schnecksville, PA 18078-0196.

As we sat alphabetically in school, Larry always sat in back of me when we were at Parkland HS. We had a lot of laughs and fun together. Then we lost track of each other, but I still remember the good times.
