Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel - Saint Joseph Obituary

Laurence "Larry" E. Lorenz December 21, 1954 - May 24, 2025.

Larry Lorenz passed away on May 24, 2025 at his home.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert F. and Kathryn Lorenz; siblings, Robert J. Lorenz and Carol (Bob)White; And former wife, Patti (Guyer) Hart.

He leaves behind his son, Shawn (Kristi) Lorenz; daughter, Dana Lorenz; granddaughter, Brooklyn Lorenz; And several friends whom he considered as family.

Larry was a good, kind-hearted generous man who enjoyed sitting by the fire on the riverfront, listening to music and singing songs. He himself could light up a room  and was quick to include anyone. He had more love to give in a lifetime than others can even manage in an instance. He was the kind of guy that could make anyone's time around him feel special. And he will be greatly missed by all of the people who's lives he touched.

Rosary 5:30 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2025 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel with a visitation to follow from 6:00  P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Not sure what to say?

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

To a lifelong friend that was a great friend and always a pleasure to be around. He was always glad to see anyone. it was great growing up around you and your folks and all your extended family at Westab/Mead. You always treated me like family and my family felt the same about you. I miss the days of walking with ol Mom(Dorothy Huber) over to see your Mom on Sacramento. You will always be remembered and missed by us.-David Loyd and family.

While I worked 2nd shift summers in the Mead Shipping warehouse in the early 80's, I watched Larry on that forklift bring down those huge pallets full of filler paper for us at the dock, I always had a good time around Larry and his friends up at the river. I had planned to come see him this summer, I will miss good ole Larry, he was a good man I will never forget. Barry Carolus, Osage Beach, MO.

Great friend & neighbor growing up. Back when kids spent the summers playing basketball, Indian ball or football. The man could play! Rest in peace my friend.

He was the kindest soul u could meet, and had a way about him making you feel yu had known him forever. I miss him now and our texts and talks and sharing stories , as I will til the day Iam no more . Rest In Peace my friend . You wereloved much more than u could of ever imagined.

Larry & I met our freshman year at Bishop Le Blond high school. We quickly became life long friends. I am so lucky to have him as my best friend. We have made a lifetime of memories together. He is like the brother I never had. May you rest in peace my brother, until we meet again. You will be missed......

I was honored to know Larry. A kind and generous man. Rest in peace sir

One of the best lifelong friends of my entire Family. Larry, you will be missed (already are), ... Love you Brother and may the Good Lord rest your soul. Til we meet again, my friend!!!

Some of my favorite childhood memories were at Larry's. Playing in the backyard at the house on Sacramento, running up and down the banks at his place on the river. He had such a kind heart and loved to laugh, and make us all laugh too. Which he did all the time. My brother (Frank) and I recently were watching old home movies from the early 90s and there is a clip of Larry in our kitchen goofing around, blowingbubbles inside the house through one of those plastic wands from a birthday party....
