Laurence Lorenz Obituary

Laurence "Larry" E. Lorenz December 21, 1954 - May 24, 2025. Larry Lorenz passed away on May 24, 2025 at his home. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert F. and Kathryn Lorenz; siblings, Robert J. Lorenz and Carol (Bob)White; And former wife, Patti (Guyer) Hart. He leaves behind his son, Shawn (Kristi) Lorenz; daughter, Dana Lorenz; granddaughter, Brooklyn Lorenz; And several friends whom he considered as family. Larry was a good, kind-hearted generous man who enjoyed sitting by the fire on the riverfront, listening to music and singing songs. He himself could light up a room and was quick to include anyone. He had more love to give in a lifetime than others can even manage in an instance. He was the kind of guy that could make anyone's time around him feel special. And he will be greatly missed by all of the people who's lives he touched. Rosary 5:30 P.M. Friday, May 30, 2025 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel with a visitation to follow from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. To a lifelong friend that was a great friend and always a pleasure to be around. He was always glad to see anyone. it was great growing up around you and your folks and all your extended family at Westab/Mead. You always treated me like family and my family felt the same about you. I miss the days of walking with ol Mom(Dorothy Huber) over to see your Mom on Sacramento. You will always be remembered and missed by us.-David Loyd and family.

While I worked 2nd shift summers in the Mead Shipping warehouse in the early 80's, I watched Larry on that forklift bring down those huge pallets full of filler paper for us at the dock, I always had a good time around Larry and his friends up at the river. I had planned to come see him this summer, I will miss good ole Larry, he was a good man I will never forget. Barry Carolus, Osage Beach, MO.

Some of my favorite childhood memories were at Larry's. Playing in the backyard at the house on Sacramento, running up and down the banks at his place on the river. He had such a kind heart and loved to laugh, and make us all laugh too. Which he did all the time. My brother (Frank) and I recently were watching old home movies from the early 90s and there is a clip of Larry in our kitchen goofing around, blowingbubbles inside the house through one of those plastic wands from a birthday party. Grinning at the camera. Larry, you were such a light in our lives and we will miss you.

Larry, I will miss you so so much! You were near and dear to my heart. You always had a way of telling me how life is. But, better yet you had a way of showing how life can be worth living. You always had a way to make every day special for everyone. Holidays were a great time with you. I will miss your 4th of July parties. I will also miss how you could cheer me up and make my day better. Spending time with you and helping you was never a burden. It was always a blessing. I also gained a lot of knowledge from you. I will especially miss sitting with you by the fire on the river and listening to classic rock and having a drink. I wouldn’t change those moments, they were special. And the night sky and river were such a serene peaceful place. I understood why you loved it down there. I know how much Shawn and Dana meant to you. I know they will miss you. They will be ok. Just know they loved you too with a heart as big as yours. We will all miss you my friend. I can say that. Can’t wait to see you again my friend. I love you!
