Not sure what to say?

My wife and I went to high school with Laurie at New Trier. I remember her vividly from English class. She was gifted and pretty and full of life, one of the clear "winners" in life. We were shocked to hear that she had passed away. We always expected to see her again at a class reunion.

I remember Laurie from our swimming days, on the New Trier Guard in Winnetka, IL. I thought she was the most beautiful girl at New Trier East High School. She had a majestic smile and was full of joy. I can still hear her laughter. She was an angel.

I met Laurie just two years ago and learned that she was a passionate advocate for giving a voice to abused children. I referred Karen Khan's request for an Amicus Curiae Brief to the children's advocacy organization First Star and Laurie wrote a wonderful Friend of the Court Brief on behalf of protecting the abused children in that case. She was helping out Justice for Children with a case in California in August and September at the time of her passing. I will always remember and honor...

Laurie had a great laugh. She was a friend to me. She will be remembered and missed.

I met Laurie as a transfer student to Sears in 7th grade. She was in the "brainy" section, and had a huge smile. She was friendly and a young girl whom I looked up to since I just knew then that she'd be successful. I am so sorry to hear of her passing....

I am so sad to hear of Laurie's death. I grew up three houses away from Laurie and her family. I use to feed their cats when they were out of town. Laurie, Debbie and I had so much fun playing on their "summer porch", Laurie loved board games and loved to win. I will never forget when her father died suddenly, they were a beautiful family, her parents gave me a wedding shower in their back yard. I always loved being in their home, you always felt so welcomed.
God Bless, Sally...

I met Laurie in 5th grade at Joseph Sears School and felt how special she was even then . . . on the first day of school. She made a scared, awkward parochial school transfer student (me) feel welcome. I will always remember her smile, her sense of humor, her kindness, her brilliance. Rest well, my birthday buddy. Love, Marea (Stuhr) Yoswa

Laurie was my first girl friend in the 6th grade. We double dated and saw Lawrence of Arabia at the Teatro movie theater in Wilmette at the Plaza de Lago shopping center. We went to the same church with our parents and the same grade school-Joseph Sears. I am very sad about this, but take solace in knowing from reading some of the memories and hearing how she is doing throughout the years that she had a wonderful and productive life. Tom Woodbury

"V" is my alphabetic choice that I feel defines the Vivacious Laurie I was privileged to have met via Lou and Chuck on a few West Coast Visits during the past several years. joi du VIVRE - VIBRANT - VULNERABLY STRONG - VENERABLY WISE - VALIANT -
are just some expressions that come to mind immediate when I sense her presence surfacing in my thoughts.
Stunned and saddened by her sudden passing reminds me to take stock and
reflect on a woman and indivudal I
