passed away

on October 27,

will follow at Volusia Memorial

Park. Leanore was born Decem­

ber 9, 1920 to the late William

and Bessie McVaugh in Tough­

kenamon, Pennsylvania. She at­

tended Goucher College then

transferred to Bucknell Universi­

ty, where she received her Bach­

elors degree. Following a 25

continuous-year career with Du­

pont in Wilmington, Delaware,

she attained the position of Ex­

ecutive Secretary to the two

Senior Vice Presidents. Leanore

was vivacious and a lover of life.

She and her late husband, Jim,

enjoyed flying their private plane

and she actually flew solo while

in her 30's. Upon retirement in

1974, she and Jim refocused

their energies on continuing to

travel and meeting new friends

all over the world, and also were

avid boaters and golfers. Leanore leaves to cherish her

memory her only child and dear

son, James William, and his wife,

Pamela Loveland Patterson; and

her beloved 24 year old grand­

daughter, Britni Lane Patterson.

She was preceded in death by

her loving husband of 44 years,

James Wilson Patterson. In lieu

of flowers, memorial donations

may be made in honor of Leanore to Hospice of Volusia/

Flagler's New Smyrna Hospice

House, 1020 Claudia St., New

Smyrna Beach, FL 32168. Con­
