Lee was a great guy. He was always kind, patient and helpful to me especially in my early days at the phone company. One year he got me a ride in a hot air balloon ride in New Mexico. I'll never forget him. My prayers go out to his wonderful family.

Lee was a valued member of our Independent Telephone Hall of Fame Committee in the process of determining and nominating those in our non-Bell telecom industry who had made outstanding contributions over their careers. Lee's vast experience in the industry was especially welcomed by the rest of the committee and he will be sorely missed. As chairman, in behalf of the eight of us serving with him we extend our sincere condolences to his family and give thanks for the legacy he leaves.

Somehow, when someone displays an unending love of people, it seems a bit easier to let them go because you know their reward will be in enjoying all those friendly souls in Heaven. Lee's love and interest in his friends seemed to be his life.

He was a class ahead of me at Winter Park High School. We were in the band together when I was in the 8th grade and even then I noticed his unusual warmth, and good-natured interest in classmates and friends. Lee's sister, the late Sandra Bradley, was one of the most popular girls in my class of 1953. So for almost 70 years, I knew Lee as a devoted friend with a special caring for others around him.

Many years later, Lee and I both ended up with the responsibility of keeping up with our high school classmates and inviting them to reunionswhich later grew into the more difficult task of giving them word of the loss of classmates. With Lee's intense interest in alumni from my class, as well as his, I simply included him on my email class list. On several occasions, Lee was the first to advise me of the passing of one of my classmates. In his later years, he was especially committed to alumni gatherings, with an intense concern about the welfare of old friends.

On behalf of the Winter Park High School Class of 1953, we know that while Lee's loss must be so painful for Elfrie, Sheri, Lisa and the rest, Lee lived a life of special caring and it did not go unnoticed. Few others displayed his honest interest in, and concern for, those fortunate enough to be his friend.

It saddens my heart to hear of Lee's passing but we can rejoice with the knowledge that we will see him again when the Lord calls us home. Lee was a true gentleman with a servant's heart and he will be missed by all of us that had an opportunity to be blessed by his wisdom, drive, and humor. May the Lord comfort you all (especially Miss Elfie) during this extremely difficult time.
