Lena Christie Obituary
Our beloved mother and friend, Lena Christie, passed away peacefully in Peoria, Arizona on October 9, 2013. Lena was born February 11, 1928 in Calmar, Alberta, Canada to Mary (Youney) and Nick Karbonik. She had made her home in the Valley of the Sun for the last 24 years. She loved baking, sports, tending her roses and playing bridge. Lena was a loving mother, devoted wife and a cherished friend to many. Lena's daughters Patricia and Deborah will miss her dearly and are filled with wonderful memories. Lena is survived by her adored daughters Deborah Christie, Reno, NV and Patricia Christie, and son in-law, Mike Carlson, Oakland, CA; sisters Nadia, Mary and Helen and brothers Nick and Richard. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Christie. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013 at The Montecito, 17211 N 87th Avenue, Peoria. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Lena Christie. Condolences may be left for the family at www.advantagefunerals.com.

I just wanted to pass along both Janet's and my condolences to you both on the passing of your Mom. I'm sure the Celebration of Life was a wonderful tribute to her.
