Leo BRUCE Obituary

BRUCE,
Leo James

Leo James Bruce, 87 was reunited with his wife in the Kingdom of Heaven on January 19th, 2017 peace- fully with his family by his side. He was born on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation in Belcourt, ND on January 13th, 1930 to Joseph and Matilda Bruce whom both have preceded him to Heaven. He was also preceded to Heaven by his two sisters Cecilia Short and Edna Peltier, brother Adolph Bruce and is survived by his adopted sister Marlene Bruce. He is survived by his first wife Betty Bruce and their two children Richard Bruce and Donna Smith. Preceding him to Heaven was their son Shannon Bruce. He was also preceded to Heaven by his wife of 28 years Elaine Bruce and survived by their five children Tonya Peone, Tara Hargett, Tiffany Adams, Tasha Bovan, Tuesday Perdue along with their husbands and children. He was truly a legend in his time and the champion of anything he put his mind to. In his heart the biggest accomplishment was his loving family. Leo was also a veteran of the Army Air Corps. We know he is in a better place but will be dearly missed. Funeral Services with Military Honors will be on Thursday, January 26th, 2017 from 12pm-2pm at the Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Cemetery, 5200 W. Wellesley Ave. Leo will be privately laid to rest beside his loving wife Elaine after the service. You are welcome to attend a celebration for Leo at the Eagles Lodge, 6410 N. Lidgerwood St. @ 3pm. For those unable to attend this service we will have a celebration of life for Leo this summer at Barstow, WA where he raised his family.
