All of us always felt that it was special to simply be related to the Shore family. Leon and Bunny held a special place in the lives of my parents because they could share their ability to find humor in any situation. For me, Leon held a place as not only a cousin, but as a mentor who advised me how to navigate the inner workings of the School District of Philadelphia. Leon was a gentle giant among men. He was a teacher, a union founder, yes. But his gentleness and kindness to all who encountered him will be remembered most.

Your family will miss his presence but the ability he had to connect to anyone he met is replicated in his children and his grandchildren.

Stay strong. Grieve. Know the that although he is no longer here physically he lives in you and in all of those he touched.
