LEON SHORE Obituary
LEON, October 25, 2012. Husband of 59 years to Bernice "Bunny" (nee Ivker); father of Dr. Stephen (Carol) Shore and Jackie (Hovav) Shahar; grand-father of Elon Shore (Jamie Beran), Mira Shore, Doron Shore, Jonathan Shahar and Daniel Shaher.
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Sunday 11:30 A.M. precisely, GOLDSTEINS' ROSENBERG'S RAPHAEL SACKS SUBURBAN NORTH, 310 Second St. Pike, Southampton. Int. Shalom Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed Sunday and Monday at the residence of Jackie and Hovav Shahar. Shiva will be observed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the residence of Stephen and Carol Shore. Contributions in his memory may be made to Camp Galil Scholarship Fund, PO Box 1245, Newtown PA 18940, or Jewish Labor Committee, 25 E. 21st St., #2, New York NY 10010.

All of us always felt that it was special to simply be related to the Shore family. Leon and Bunny held a special place in the lives of my parents because they could share their ability to find humor in any situation. For me, Leon held a place as not only a cousin, but as a mentor who advised me how to navigate the inner workings of the School District of Philadelphia. Leon was a gentle giant among men. He was a teacher, a union founder, yes. But his gentleness and kindness to all who encountered him will be remembered most.
Your family will miss his presence but the ability he had to connect to anyone he met is replicated in his children and his grandchildren.
Stay strong. Grieve. Know the that although he is no longer here physically he lives in you and in all of those he touched.
I was honored to have known him.
