LEONARD LIEBERSON Obituary

LIEBERSON, Leonard Leonard Lieberson, of Swampscott, formerly of Marblehead, entered into rest on January 26, 2022, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of Bernice, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage. Devoted father of Sharon Way, Meryl (Roy) Reaves and Robert (Janet) Lieberson. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer Reaves, Sarah Lieberson, Matthew Lieberson, Samantha Way and Kimberly Way. The loving brother of Helen and Al (deceased) Wolk and Nathan (deceased) and Anita Lieberson. Dear son of the late Jack and Molly Lieberson. Lenny is survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Boston and raised in Dorchester, Lenny proudly served in the Navy during World War II. Lenny was a graduate of Suffolk University, while attending on the GI Bill. Lenny and Bunny raised their family first in Dorchester then Marblehead. He had a long career as a manufacturers' rep in apparel sales, traveling through New England and New York. Upon retirement, Lenny enjoyed the company of family and friends and was always found with his loving wife by his side. Lenny was a dedicated member of Congregation Shirat Hayam (Temple Israel) for over 60 years. Extremely well read, Lenny enjoyed his daily newspapers from cover to cover and was always up to date on current events or the latest mystery novel. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, January 28th at 11:00 AM at Temple Israel Section of the Shirat Hayam Cemetery, 506 Lowell Street, Peabody, MA. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to Congregation Shirat Hayam, Rabbi's Discretionary Fund, 55 Atlantic Avenue, Swampscott, MA 01907. The family expresses gratitude to Dr. Steven Levisohn for providing many years of compassionate care.
