RAHMIN, Leonie Of North Andover, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at her home at Edgewood Retirement Community, in North Andover on March 28, 2026 at the age of 92. Leonie was born in Baghdad, Iraq. At the age of 10, she moved with her family, parents Albert and Rachel Murad, and her siblings: Henry Murad, Eddie Murad, Mary Nissan, Shlomo Murad, and Howard Murad to New York. She worked incredibly hard. With her husband, Raymond, she built a happy, successful life. Together they built and owned a small chain of contemporary women's retail stores. Leonie was like a shining star, bringing light, energy, and warmth wherever she went-from Woodmere, New York, to Boca Raton, Florida, and finally to North Andover, Massachusetts. Her positivity and gracious spirit were infectious and had made the world a better place. She will be missed, never forgotten, as her love lives on in our hearts. Leonie was the loving mother of Debra (and her husband, Donald) Silberstein of Andover, Massachusetts, and Michael G. Rahmin (and his wife, Iris Kopeloff) of Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. She was deeply loved by and enormously proud of her six grandchildren: Allyson Silberstein, David Silberstein (and his partner, Christine Bilms), Daniel Silberstein, Samantha Rahmin, Austin Rahmin and Gabrielle Rahmin. Leonie is survived by her beloved brother, Howard Murad (and his wife, Loralee) of Marina Del Ray, California, and by her dear friend of nine years, Fran DiVito, of Middleton, Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Raymond, on June 6, 2018. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026 at 1:00 PM at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY.
