Read MoreRoy was my mentor and friend ever since he hired me at UNI in 1986. Even after retirement I would receive notice of one of our impending "organic division meetings". We would solve most of the world problems at these gatherings. It was an honor to work with him.

Carole and I send our condolences to Carol and the family. Roy was a good friend and colleague as well as an excellent classroom teacher. We all enjoyed his dry wit and wonderful sense of humor. His service as department head was exemplary and helped make our department one of the strongest in the university. He will be missed.
