Lily Chu Obituary

Lily Eng Chu, 88, joined her beloved husband Larry in the kingdom of Heaven on January 19, 2013. She is survived by her children Edward and wife Ashley Chu, Doris and husband Alan Dao, Lilly Chu, King Wei and wife Nancy Chu, and Chuy Guen Chuen; grandchildren Henry and wife Shari Chu, Alice Chu, Jon Lau, Alana Dao, Elizabeth Chu, Edward Chu Jr., Sing Yun and Mai Yun Chuen; great-grandchildren Sarah and Lauren Chu.
"Miss Lily" to the many employees and customers of our family restaurant, Timmy Chan's, she always served up a smile or word of encouragement to all she met. Wherever she went, her light brightened everyone's day even if it was a mischievous twinkle when she played tricks on them.
That light grew even brighter in "retirement" when she became an active and founding member of Southwest Chinese Baptist Church where she was known as "Auntie Lily." Using her culinary skills, she delighted many with her tasty fare which was made all the more delicious because of the love and care she put into it.
Young and old were drawn to her light as she richly bore all the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. She radiated loving kindness and brought joy to every person who crossed her path.
Her grace, compassion and genuine concern for others are shining examples of her faith and will remain as her legacy. Her eternal light now shines in our hearts and Heaven is a brighter place - may we all reflect into the world what she brought to ours…
Our family sincerely thanks all who so lovingly gave of themselves to make her last few years so joyful and her journey home so meaningful.
Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25 at Winford Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26 at Southwest Chinese Baptist Church, 12525 Sugar Ridge Blvd. (77477)
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Auntie Lily's honor to Southwest Chinese Baptist Church, 281.495.1511.

Lily and family - Your Mom was a SuperStar in the community and will be greatly missed. I will always remember how classy, stylish, and sweet she was...and a glamour queen. Even in her casual clothes, she was elegant and stylish. She always had a warm smile, kind words, and shared her time w/everyone. My prayers are with all of you during this sad time.
