Linda Joan "Lin" Kalinowski, nee Hunt, 68, of Sun City Ariz., passed away suddenly, Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at the home of her son in Collinsville, Ill.

Lin was born in 1942, in Dallas Texas, daughter of John and Geneva Hunt. Lin lived in Corsicana Texas and Phoenix Ariz., before settling in Sun City, Ariz.

Before retiring, Lin worked for Honeywell International Inc. as an inspector.

Lin was preceded in death by a son in infancy and her father, John Hunt.

Surviving are her mother, Geneva, nee McArter, Hodge of Corsicana, Texas; sister, Bettie A (Bernard) Pettiette, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and brother, Harry W. Hunt of Corsicana, Texas. Lin leaves behind five children who loved her dearly: Tamberli, nee Boyd, Todd of Sun City Ariz., Tess Boyd of Glendale Ariz., Bret T. (LaDonna) Boyd of Collinsville, Ill., Holley Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., and Christopher Kalinowski of Phoenix, Ariz. She also had three great-grandchildren: Jasmyne Todd, Ryan and Aaren Hurley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Our beloved mother, grammy, and great-grammy. Lin was loved and admired by many for her sense of style and the love she showed her family. Lin would do without so her children would always look good. We were blessed to be able to give mom the "White Christmas" that she always wanted. She will be greatly missed.

My mom was a very remarkable person.
She taught me to be giving, supportive, loving, caring
Classy, to have a great sense of humor to be very independent.
She had 5 children that she loved unconditionally.
I am the woman today because she taught me so well.

The memories were incredible
I was 6 yrs old and I had the flew and she took me to Dr and then put me in the car and said lay your head on my lap and rubbed my forehead and said I’m goin to get you home and get you well and said I love you.

I remember all the special birthday parties and cakes she always went all out.

I was 13 yrs old and pierced my ears at Anita’s house and I knew I was suppose to do it.
She found the string dangling down from my ears and she said
What is that on your ear? I said me and Anita pierced my ears and she said how. I said well we started with the close pen then we used ice and lit a match marked it and just did it.
That same day she went out to jewelry store and bought me beautiful sapphire earrings.

7th grade I was invited to the prom and she went out and bought me beautiful earrings and the best outfit to made that occasion one I would never forget.

I was married at 16 and she tried to talk me out of it. Mothers do know best . When your that age you think you know everything.
At 17 yrs old My mom and Betty came to see her 1st Grand daughter and they gave me the best baby shower anyone could have. Jennifer had every dress you can imagine all the way up to 2 yrs old. That was more special than you imagine.

I went to Frankfurt Germany after Jennifer was born
And I had to have gallbladder surgery and she loved me sooo much she called me right after the surgery and I was upset cause I had to walk all the way down the hall because in a military hospital they didn’t have phones in the room.
She lifted my spirits so high and I believe that was the real reason I started to feel better began to get well.

My mom was so amazing she made every Holiday so special.
Her house was always decorated so beautiful and she had a special place for everything. I never saw a women work as hard as my mom. She had a chore list a mile long for herself
Just about every day.

We had lots of mother and daughter days and those are the memories that I will cherish forever.

I could call her up and tell her I’m so mad today just soo mad
And she would say have you ever been so mad that you’ve been mad at your self . Then she could get me to laugh.

I went to visit one day and she said here’s another leaf just like the other leaf just like other leaf I picked up before. She could make me laugh. She was my best friend, Words can’ t even describe how much I will miss her. I know in my heart she loved me so much and I loved her so much.

I have to believe that God has a plan for all of us and knows the day were born and the time we arrive in heaven.
The streets are paved with gold no pain or sorrow.
An Angel at peace that shines her bright light over us to protect us until we can see her again. She is always here with us.

One of the 10 commandments is to honor thy mother and father. I will honor her for the rest of my life.
There won’t be a day that goes by without thinking about her and all the beautiful things she did for everyone.
Lets all make a commitment every year on Jan the 19th as a tribute to honor my mom turn on a porch light or car lights to reflect her life. Lets have a moment of silence.

GOD, has taken Linda away for a reason, and that was to rid her of her pain. My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting her, she was a warm hearted person, that you couldn't help but like. Now she is in GOD'S hands.

I only spent a couple times with Linda but remember how hillarious she was at the bingo hall. I have never laughed so hard at a bingo hall, and thought for sure we were going to get kicked out. I also spent a mothers day at a park with her. I am very good friends with her daughter Tammy who spent many years taking care of her 24/7. I am sorry for your loss dear friend.....

I was truly blessed to have my Mom! She never judged me for things I did wrong! She truly tried to lead me in the right directions in life. I honestly never thought the day would come that I would lose her and it sure made me see how short life is and not to take anyone or anything for granted! I know all she wanted was for all of our family to be as one and make her proud! Well Mommy, I'm good now and as you see times are very painful without you and I also know that I will be with you again!!! I love you soo much and I'll keep making you proud!

She took me in when I had know one to take care of me and raised me most of my life. she was the best mother anyone could have had. I miss and love her so very much and I know she will always be with me and all her loved ones she had left behind. she was the strongest lady I have ever seen and has survived a lot through her life. I miss her so very much and feel lost knowing she is gone but I know I will see her again one day when it is my time to go and she will be waiting for me.

Grammy always had so much love to give to everyone in her life. Whenever we were in her presence we felt "at home". Her beautiful smile, irreplaceable laugh, warm hugs & Texas "draw" will greatly be missed! There just arent the right words to express how much we will miss her. We love you Grammy always!
