Lisa Hanson Obituary

Lisa E. Hanson, 61, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 23, 1963, in Springfield. Lisa married Scott Hanson on June 6, 1990. Lisa attended Southern View Elementary School, graduated from Southeast High School, and earned her bachelor's degree from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. She went on to work for 26 years at Teachers Retirement System (TRS). Lisa loved animals, flowers, reading, gardening, going to concerts, and punk music. She was known as caring, loving, and a compassionate mother and wife. She is survived by her husband, Scott Hanson of Springfield; son, Dane J. Hanson of Chicago; one niece; two nephews; and one great-niece. The family will host a Celebration of Life from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Obed & Isaac's Microbrewery, 5000 S. Sixth St., Springfield. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Animal Protective League of Springfield, or Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation, Inc. at https://cjdfoundation.org/donate/ Cremation was provided by Lincoln Land Cremation Society.
