Richard, Erin, Lee & family, please accept my deepest sympathy in the untimely passing of our beloved Lis. We met as adversaries when she was at Legal Services & I was at the Stamford Housing Authority. It quickly became clear that we had mutual respect & fondness for each other as well as a commitment to serve public housing residents. This became an alliance that gave birth to the most productive service delivery model in the state to foster collaboration among service providers; increase accessibility to providers through the Listening Place; & most importantly drastically reduced the number of evictions of poor families.
Lisa's friendship was precious to me. She helped everyone including me. When she left Legal Services she ran my legal dept at another housing authority before moving to Florida. She helped my son become a lawyer. She was the first friend to see my first grandchild at the hospital. I spent some time visiting her and Dick in FL and was looking forward to relocating nearby in the next few months.
She was a generous person and tireless champion of the poor and disenfranchised. She was my friend, my hero and I am a better person having known her.
Rest in Peace dear Lisa
