Dear Bostian family--

I never met Dr. Logan Bostian in person but like a great many naturalists I "met" him in Karl Kauffeld's 1957 book on reptile collecting ("Snakes and Snake Hunting," Hanover House). Kauffeld spent several days in southeastern Arizona in 1941 in search of rare reptiles for the Staten Island Zoo,and there he met young Logan Bostian, who was a guest at the Carr Canyon Ranch in the Huachuca Mountains near Fort Huachuca.
