Lois was such a kind, thoughtful neighbor for many years since building their house in Gorman. We´d often stop to chat with her and Ernest while walking our various dogs. Lois would drop bags of potatoes, tomatoes and other bounty from her garden on her rounds of the neighborhood. She made delicious pickled beets too. For several summers I took her down to Holden Farms to pick tomatoes when she stopped growing her own. Hers were for friends and neighbors as she didn´t care for tomatoes. We´d stop at Piggly Wiggly for ribs or chicken then have lunch nearby. She was the most active person I have ever known. Nothing deterred her. Up and out early, walking or biking the neighborhood, mowing the lawn, cooking treats. We are joyful knowing she is with her beloved Ernest and Thomas.
