Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to the family. I was a customer there for many years. Lou & Joe were the best & the hero´s nobody could come close to theirs. Lou & Joe are truly missed. I was looking them up & saw the closed permanently on the website.

I have a house a couple blocks away for 35+ years. When we would go visit some veteran friends over at the VA, they always had us stop to bring them Leggio´s heros. Local Legends. RIP. Sad to see the windows of the deli papered over....

Gary Sullivan I was his next door neighbor At 23 Benjamin Street in Bay Shore in the early 1950s. Louie and Joey were great friends

As a kid originally from Brooklyn / Queens who moved out to the Island Louie would make me feel like a celebrity when I would walk in ( I was only a Newsday Newspaper Boy ) haha No matter who you were Louie & Joe would make you feel like you were family. We would talk about everything from sports, movies, music and of course family. To end this one in true Louie fashion I´ll say " They Sure Don´t Make `Em Like They Used To " Until we meet again Fratello ...

Louis I still am in Awww I miss you and your Heros like crazy I pass by your store at least 8 times a week the people in heaven must all be happy because your Louie's deli their eating our heros till we meet again you remember one hero mayo tomato black pepper ham Swiss and lettuce ok God has Blessed you and I'm sure your Happy and making money love you leggio you are truly missed

Louis you and Joe reminded us of an Abbott and Castello routine every time we purchased heros. We miss the heros but even more the two of you and the antics that went on between you two and the customers. Many times I watched you give food to those that could not afford it. They don't make quality people like the two of you anymore. Miss you

lou was like a brother--god bless--a era that is over -- I grew up in Sayville in the 70's, and rode my bike there for a world famous hero--rest in peace

To Begin My sincerest condolences to the family. Leggio's Hero and I go back to my Jr. High School Days and Day trips with the Ski Club. Many of us frequented Leggio's for the famed heroes for those oh-so-long bus trips. Since then the heroes have been a staple on many a boating trip on the Great South Bay, or simply the best lunch money could buy. I often witnessed Joe and Lou being incredibly generous to children in the neighborhood who they knew were less fortunate. by giving them...

Condolences to Louie´s family from a fellow BSHS grad, Joan Leyrer Greene. I´m glad I got to see Louie again recently.
