I loved my Maw Maw and Paw Paw! They will truly be missed, but never forgotten! I will always have a piece of my Paw Paw with me through every step I take! From the time I tried to cut my hair to look like him to this day using my creativity and grace to blessing the world. I wrote this poem 2 days ago, and thought I'd share it, in memory of Paw Paw, who loved to write poems.

We can't forget about the times we've shared,
That twinkled eye glare with every moment bared,
The Hair stands up at an attentioned strut,
Knowing its not from my fresh haircut,
But, from remmebering all the times we had,
Times alas, that was just all in the past,
I'm thankful I got to see every person you be,
You are in my breathe until my dying destiny,
I cried that very moment of truth,
The second I heard what had happened to you,
A better place stayed, relaxing in the shade,
A brighter heaven built is just what you made,
You played the game of life and won real well,
Ain't that the truth because evveryone can tell,
So reunited I heard is the best passion,
Everyday I will look for your shadow casting,
Placing that piece of you onto,
Another, I mourn you til I join you!

I love you Paw Paw and can't wait til the time comes to see you and Maw Maw dance for days!!!!

I know it's hard to believe this now...but time REALLY does heal wounds. There are times when you'll be sad, but you wouldn't be human if you completely forgot about the people you loved so very much. One thing that has helped me over the years is knowing that no matter what, NO ONE can take your memories away from you. I have many wonderful memories of Uncle Earl. You both were very lucky to have had such a sweet and caring man to call dad. Concentrate on celebrating his life...that has also helped me. Take care.

My deepest sympathies to you, Carol and Janice, and your families at this sad time. I have fond memories of Uncle Earl and Aunt Dell from first street Presbyterian Church. Your Parents have prepared themselves for this final resting place all of their lives, and they are there together.

Stepping Stones

The Lord came to me like a dream one day
And asked, “Why do you sorrow?”
I answered, “Lord my life is to so full of pain,
I can’t face one more tomorrow.

The Lord sat down beside me,
And gently took my hand.
He said, “Let me explain to you
And then you’ll understand.

Each sorrow is a stepping stone
You must surmount each day
And every stepping stone you climb
Is a sorrow that’s passed away.

The road of life is a mountainside,
With crevices in which to be caught.
But as you struggle on your way,
I the Rock, will lend support.

I know that you are tired,
For I too have walked this way.
My sorrows did they multiply
But I cleared many stones away.

I left my rock to lift you up,
I left behind my story;
To give you strength to make your climb,
To that special place in glory.

And never fear, the Rock is here,
You’ll never climb this mountain alone.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
