Not sure what to say?

I´m shocked and saddened by this. I served with Luke in Iraq and went to Australia with him. I also ran into him again in Afghanistan. Everyone was drawn to him because he was a great leader and so funny. Great guy.. I´ll miss him.

We just learned of Luke´s passing, and we are speechless. Though we had only met Luke a couple of times since we were close Upstate New York friends of Mike and Kim, he was an amazing spirit! Remembering Lucas will be our way of honoring his legacy.

Luke took my case in Gaston county nc because I am a one legged disabled veteran he really helped me to the best of his ability and helped make me a better man in the process y the advice he gave to me as a commanding officer as well we military guys just get one another... I wish he would have asked to talk it thru with someone....

Luke was a go getter aa good friend and will be missed immensely peace be the journey Luke . .

I met Luke at the Gaston County Courthouse and always admired how he defended his clients during court. His passion for helping those with no voice really resonated with me as I am also a bleeding heart. Luke always made me laugh during our chats on the sidewalk after court. He had the biggest heart and purest soul. I will forever be devastated by his loss, but the legacy he leaves behind will forever be cherished. Sending all my love to those who knew and loved him.

On behalf of the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard team, I want to extend our deepest condolences for your loss. It was both an honor and a privilege to provide military honors for your loved one. The folded American flag we presented symbolizes the gratitude of a nation and the sacrifices made by your family member in service to our country. May you find strength and solace in the cherished memories of their life and the knowledge that their dedication and sacrifice will never be...

Lucas was the type of friend who flew across the world to spend Christmas and New Year's with you when you were alone. I firmly remember saying to him, It's Christmas Eve so we are wearing suits and ties tonight and and have to go to the street market. "Let's do it" was his reply. You will be forever missed.
