Rossi Funeral Home - Scotch Plains Obituary

Luigi "Louis" DiFiore died on August 28th, 2012 with his loving family at his side. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1st at St. Bartholomew Church, Scotch Plains. Interment will follow funeral mass at St. Gertrude Catholic Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31st from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Rossi Funeral Home, Scotch Plains.

Luigi, better known as Louis was born in Montazzoli, Italy. He lived here for all of his childhood and as a young man he served in the Italian Army. Louis immigrated to the United States in 1954 to the then small town of Westfield, NJ. Louis did not reside in Westfield for very long because he built his new home in Scotch Plains in 1956. Louis was a Carpenter by trade and worked with several contractors throughout his career before retiring in 1998. He later settled to Califon, NJ in 2002. Louis was also member of the Italian American Club in Scotch Plains.

Luigi is predeceased by his wife Malvena, '96 and his son Joseph, '10. He is survived by son Ralph and wife, Kathy. His two granddaughters Danielle Lopes and her husband Oryan, and Dominque DiFiore.
