Madaleen Grimaldi DeArmas entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 20, 2015. She was 72 years old. Loving mother of Pamela Branham Hovis and Kimberly Branham Daigle. Sister of Kathleen Grimaldi Guillory (John), Charles Grimaldi (Susan), and Ronald Grimaldi (Donna). Grandmother of Ronald Cantrelle III (Rebecca), Taylor Hovis, and Nathan Hovis. Great grandmother of Chloe Cantrelle, Skylar Cantrelle, and Henrik Cantrelle. Aunt of Keith Hernandez, Melanie Manale, Samantha Harris, and Tammy Diaz. She is also survived by her former husband and good friend, Joseph Eugene Branham, and her longtime companion, Dominick Lamandre. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Frank and Marie Drouet Grimaldi. Madaleen was born and raised in New Orleans. She graduated from Warren Easton High School in 1961. She worked for South Central Bell for 28 years and retired in 1989. She was a parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church. Madaleen was a loving, caring, and devoted mother, and will be dearly missed. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. We love and miss you forever and always. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 1:00PM. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 11:00AM. Interment will be private.
