Major LOFTON Obituary
LOFTON, Major L.
Passed away on March 9, 2010 after a 10-month battle with cancer. He was 76. Major is preceded in death by wife Louise, son Major (Jr.), son Derwin, and survived by his son Arvern (Pascale) and daughter Lisa (Auther). He is also survived by his sister Emma, brother Arthur (May), and sister Lois. Major was retired from the US Air Force and worked as a postal clerk at the US Post Office in Woodland, CA where he served for over 35 years. He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Mount Vernon Memorial Park Chapel located at 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. A Repast will follow the service at 3:30 PM at Christ Unity Church, 9249 Folsom Boulevard Sacramento, CA 95826. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery on April 12, 2010 at 10:00 AM.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Lofton's passing! To the family be encouraged and know he's in a better place. Mr Lofton was one of
our patients. I just found out today 3/16/10. He will forever be in our hearts.

on our way to the airport on saturday, i saw Majors passing in the paper. its made me very sad, and i'm very sorry for not attending his services. he's one of the guys i've missed since transferring north, and am grateful he'd send me entertaining cards and updates occaisonally. the world could use alot more Majors-him and his laughter will be missed. our condolences to his family, sincerely, john hutchinson, and melecia ramos.
