Not sure what to say?

Miss our chats and reminiscences during Jim's periodic office visits.

Thinking of you all on the anniversary of a wonderful man

I am so sad to see Dr. Pettit has passed. He took care of 4 generations of my family. We all thought he was the best and could never be replaced. He was such a genuine and down to earth gentleman. My family sends our condolences to Mrs Pettit and all his family. With deepest sympathy the Murray and Moore families

Will miss an old friend and colleague. My thoughts are with the family. Philip Kaplan, MD

A most wonderful friend, classmate, confidante and role model for our class and beyond. With Rita, he was our class advisor and often , spokesperson. Sorely missed by us all. RIP, " jim".

We will miss our dear friend; one who made so many of us happy with his wisdom, humor, and wit.

What a wonderful man and doctor. Remember him fondly from my childhood. Never was afraid to go to the doctor. He was always so calming and funny too. My prayers are with his family.

Condolences to Rita and the "Pettit Family". Jim was my "Best Friend" for the many years we spent together in West Islip. He was an excellent physician ,a "doctor´s doctor". It was a great privilege to have worked with him these many years. He also worked very hard with the Montfort Congregation raising funds to support education in Central America in memory of our dear friend Fr. Barney Blood. We will miss you very much. "Requiescat in pace", Jim Gerry and Ann Buetow Jim
