Manuel Sifuentes Obituary

Manuel "Manny" Sifuentes Jr., 74, of Austin, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Theresa; his sons Manuel "Trey" Sifuentes III (wife Stephanie), Joe Nicholas Sifuentes, and Alexander "A.J." Sifuentes (fiancé Morgan); stepson Paul Orta; grandchildren Bailey, Dahlia, Cooper, and Lorenzo; sisters Pilar, Margaret, and Lupita; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved him.
Born in Austin on October 8, 1950, Manny was the youngest of five children of Manuel Sr. and Lupe "Grandma Lou" Sifuentes. He attended Dawson Elementary, Fulmore Junior High, and graduated from Travis High School in 1969 as first-chair trumpet of the Rebel Band.
After a short time at Del Mar College, he returned home to pursue music, performing with several groups, including his own Camero Brass Band. While working for the City of Austin, he met Theresa, and in 1980 they married, building a home in South Austin filled with love, faith, and tradition.
Manny's deep Catholic faith anchored his life, and he delighted in family gatherings that kept loved ones close. A respected professional and award-winning salesman, he was admired for his mentorship and generosity.
His greatest legacy lives on in the joy he spread, the love he shared, and the memories that remain.

Jr. was my baby bother, he was a "surprise baby" to our family. When our brother Joe was 3 years old, Jr. was born and they became wonderful best friends. I LOVED my brother and will always remember him as I knew him from the first moment I saw him as a baby. I pray he will rest peacefully and never be forgotten. Loving, Margie
