Margaret Ann Holgate

1937 - 2016

Holgate Margaret Ann Holgate, age 78, formerly of Hilliard, died April 20, 2016 in Colorado. She was born July 2, 1937 in Claremore, OK, daughter of the late Tom and Eva Hayes. Margaret retired as a teacher at St. Michael's Elementary School in Worthington. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard F. Holgate, 2004 and brother Tom Hayes, 2016. A devoted mother, grandmother and sister, Margaret is survived by her children, Christopher Steven Holgate, CO, Michael Stewart (Erica) Holgate, NC and Cathleen "Melia" (Edward) Wolf, Upper Arlington, OH; adored grandchildren, Rowan, Carson, Kennedy, Ed and Max; sisters, Carol Toomey and Patricia Search; nieces and nephews and many friends. She received a Bachelor's degree from University of Dayton and attended classes at both Kent State and The Ohio State University. Margaret loved tending to her garden, especially the Lillies of the Valley, reading a good book and traveling. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday.
