Margaret Schillinger Obituary

SCHILLINGER Margaret Ann (Peggy) Schillinger, 82, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday evening, June 16, 2011, with her husband and son at her side. Peggy was a lifelong resident of El Paso. She was born January 9, 1929 in Pecos, Texas, and was a graduate of El Paso High School and Texas Western College, where she joined the Delta Delta Delta sorority, in which she remained active all of her life. She was a member of the Woman's Club of El Paso, the Young Matrons Society and a life member of the UTEP Women's Auxiliary. In November of 1957, she married William C. (Bill) Schillinger, and together they made their home in Kern Place, raising their family and enjoying the next 53 wonderful years together. Peggy was an avid reader, and her collection of books could rival a small town library. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. While our hearts ache with the pain of our loss, we are happy and grateful to have had her with us for so many years. Her passing leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled, but our warm memories of her will be with us always. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Loretto Miller, her son David, and her brother Philip. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Bill, her son Kenneth and wife Patricia, grandson Kevin, cousin Carolyn Delisser and husband Chrys and many lifelong friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 12:00 PM with a chapel service at 1:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home West. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers at her funeral will be Kenneth Schillinger, Kevin Schillinger, Chrys Delisser, Jay Alexander, Scott Biggs and Vince Gallegos. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Sanderson, Walter Stowe and Frank Weidner. Peggy loved animals, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT 84741.
