Mrs. María Elsa Gutiérrez Elizondo of Robstown, TX died on September 8, 2012 in her home, surrounded by family and friends. Elsa was the daughter of Emeterio Gutiérrez and Emila Chapa Ramierez of Robstown, TX. She graduated from The University of Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics. After graduation she married César M. Elizondo, M.D. of San Antonio TX. She was an accomplished artist and pianist. As a student, she designed a house which her father later had constructed as their family home in Robstown, TX. Elsa chose a higher calling and dedicated her life to supporting her husband and raising their seven children. She lovingly nurtured and guided her children in all of their education and endeavors and had the joy of seeing them achieve their pursuits. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. César M. Elizondo and is survived by her seven children, Elsa Y. Elizondo Pavone of Austin, César E. Elizondo of Houston, George R. Elizondo of Plano, David A. Elizondo of Houston, CAPT Dan R. Elizondo of Maryland, Adriel A. Elizondo of Lubbock and Orlando R. Elizondo of Austin. Her grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces survive her. A visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on September 13, 2012 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home and the rosary will be held for the repose of her soul at 7:00 p.m. Holy Mass will be recited on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
