Maria Salinas Obituary

Maria Martinez Salinas, born May 1, 1901 went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2007 at the age of 106. She was a member of Iglesia de Cristo for over 40 years. Mrs. Salinas worked at Finck Cigar Company for about 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Maria was known to her grandchildren as "Maya". Maya was a wonderful and loving "abuela". She devoted her life to helping raise her grandkids. Mrs. Salinas was preceded in death by her son, Rosendo Salinas, her daughter, Margarita Salinas, and her son-in-law, Arturo Hernandez. She is survived by her daughter, Guadalupe Hernandez; also, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 24 great-great grandchildren. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2007 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No. 2. The family would like to extend their heartfelt love and utmost gratitude to the staff of Sarah Roberts Nursing Home. Their care, patience and support was a blessing. Services under the direction of Trevino Cupples Funeral Home.
