Marie Ducote

1931 - 2021

Marie Ducote (Deauzat), a lifelong resident of Metairie, LA, passed peacefully at Heart of Hospice in Metairie on December 17, 2021, at the age of 90. Born to Harry and Mildred Deauzat in Boston, Massachusetts. Marie was a member of the Golden Opportunity, Red Hats, 9+ ONE, and the Italian Society of New Orleans. She was employed at Ochsner's main campus ENT department in New Orleans for nearly 30 years. She also volunteered there following her retirement. She is survived by her five children, Robert & Shelly Remel, Stanley Ducote, Cynthia Monk, Suzanne Bourgeois and husband Earl Surrency, and Brian Ducote; brother Douglas Deauzat; grandchildren, Shaun Dufrene, Christopher and Matthew Monk, Michelle and Keith Hartley, and Nicole Remel; and many great and great-great-grandchildren. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Mildred Deauzat (Echo, La.); husband, Landry of 46 yrs.; and son, Lance Ducote. Marie lived life to the fullest and tried never to pass up a good party. There will be a small service held on January 30, 2022, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., at Leitz Eagan Funeral Home in Metairie, La.
