We met Skeeter when Troy got a job at the tank farm in 1988. We have many memories of him & Ruth. And you too Laurie & your boys. Our grandson who lived with us a while up there also lives in Montrose, CO where we live. He was only 3 or 4 when he met Skeeter but he still remembers his because Skeeter had lost the tip of one of his fingers and used to tease our grandson by making it look like he had half his finger up his nose. What a great sense of humor he had. We feel ourselves lucky...

Some of my favorite times in Whittier was with Skeeter at my kitchen table telling me stories of life in Whittier before I got there and about riding out the 64 earthquake in the rail tunnel in the fish plant. Rest in peace my friend.

My prayers are with all of you, especially mama. I know that "Trouble" is up in Heaven teasing Scott right now. I love you all and wish I could personally hug you all. Take Care my friend!

Dear Ruth, Laurie, Gilbert and all,
So very sorry to hear of Skeeter's death. I saw his picture in the paper and immediately I was transported in memory back to my brief time in Whittier when I met you, Ruth, and was enfolded into your generous friendship and that of your dear family. Sincere condolences from Mike and me on this sad day. Teresa Ascone

Skeeter always treated me like family. He and mom helped me through some really hard times by always leaving the door open for me. I will always have a very special place for you both in my heart. Skeeter give my son Rusty a big hug and tell him mom loves him.

I was having coffee with Marion in Whittier on the day of the Great Earthquake in 1964. Enjoyed working with him. RIP
