Mark David Boudreaux, recently of Sharonville, formerly of Rhode Island, passed away on Sunday, May 14th, 2023 following a lengthy illness at the age of 68. He was born February 22nd, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Mark W. and Genevieve “Jenelle” (Guidry) Boudreaux. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia “Pattie” Campbell. He is survived by devoted and adoring wife of nearly 43 years, Judy (Gates) Boudreaux; children, Renee and Mark L. (Shelby) Boudreaux; grandchildren, Orion, Gabriel and one on the way; sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, extended family and countless dear friends, colleagues and admirers.

Mark grew up in Reading, Ohio and graduated from Moeller High School where he established his first group of lifelong friends. He studied Industrial Design at University of Cincinnati and became a toy designer for Kenner-Hasbro. Before his recent retirement, Mark gained accolades and followers for his Star Wars licensed designs and was even recognized in the Toy Collectors Hall of Fame. As a “Master of Design”, his talents and skillset extended to so many other specialties and hobbies including architectural design, carpentry, and passionate problem solving.

As a family man, Mark cherished his time taking family camping trips where he would fully design and build temporary shelters. He would also construct jungle gym sets, wood structures, and countless brilliant solutions for around the house. He loved his classic rock music, peppermint patties or anything mint flavored, Cajun cuisine and seafood. He will be missed by so many people whose lives he touched in his own unique and special way but certainly by his family who have been blessed by Mark’s love, protection and guidance!

Not sure what to say?

Mark, upon my recent retirement from Mattel I can’t help but think back on what a huge part of my 40 years in toys you will always be. March 4th will never be the same because of your memory.

To the family, many, many friends, and fans to one of Mark Boudreaux's inventor and toy developer. Mr. Mark Boudreaux was a longtime toy designer for Kenner and Hasbro, Inc., who designed the original “Star Wars” Millennium Falcon playset and all that followed, along with many other toys in the “Star Wars,” “Batman,” and “Jurassic Park” lines. We will miss Mr. Mark Boudreaux's presence and his many contributions to his community and toy industry. May the love and the special memory you shared...

Mark is one of those individuals who came into my life "for a season". I met Mark when I was the Administrative Assistant of Preliminary Design at Kenner in 1981. He was an Industrial Designer, working on the Star Wars line, and simply one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I met his wife, Judy, at various social events when the group got together. After I moved on from Kenner, I ultimately married one of Mark's colleagues, Dale Goldberg. Dale and I had two daughters of our own and enjoyed...

Grove of 100 Trees

You will be remembered in the toy world.

Remember hearing about his designs over the years.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I am so sorry for your loss Mark & Shelby.

Thank you Mark for being the best mentor and a wonderful friend. Rest in peace knowing the products of your talent and hard work will live on beyond all of us.
