There is a true, kind-heartedness about Mark that is indeed rare in this world. We all had the good fortune to experience it over the years—and see it in action as Mark channeled it through his family, friends, community and profession.

I read of Mark's passing with shock and disbelief. I went to school with Mark and we had several classes together. I will always remember him as one of the good guys. My prayers go out to his parents, wife, and children. Blessed be.

Grant and Hayden, I sincerely hope you will find comfort in your profound loss by the fact that so many people were touched by your father's life work. There was a special quality about him as he cared for our animals. As parents of similarly aged children, we often discussed our children during vet appointments. He was very proud of you. Today, as Dr. Engelhardt is laid to rest, tears of rain weep for our loss of such a caring human being, bringing new life and reminding us of a new life for Mark. I feel fortunate to have been the recipient of his kindness and he has left this world a better place by his examples of true humanity. Thank you, Dr. Engelhardt. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Engelhardt for raising a fine son. Sincere sympathy to his wife, children, family and friends.

Mark will always be remembered for his compassion and love for all animals and their families. Patricia, Grant, and Hayden, your husband and father was truly a remarkable man, someone who has left his mark on all of us that he has touched over the years.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Dr.Englehart's untimely death. He showed us such compassion when treating our ill kitties in the past. He was a kind, gentle and loving man and he will surely be missed. Our heartfelt sympathy to his wife Dr. Hart and his entire family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.
