So saddened by the news of his passing. We knew him from his tavern 911 that had the best wings. My daughter who lives overseas always requested a stop for wings when she came home for a visit. On one visit he came out to talk to us. Such a warm, friendly man with a smile to match. Thoughts and prayers to his family. He will be greatly missed.

Sure gonna miss you. Those late nights finishing my premium beer while you picked up the chairs or playing a round of golf talking about life - happy trails my friend

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mark's passing. My condolences to his family ... I recall my numerous visits playing with him, brother Damian and sister Maria - fond memories now 60+ years old. Prayers offered.

Oh, gosh; such sad news

I had a schoolgirl crush on Mark in Jr. High, and we remained friends through high school. I remember Mark as a little bit of a “bad-boy”- “cool”, quiet, kind-hearted and with a mischievous streak. About 10 years ago, on a rare visit to WNY, we made a pilgrimage to The Nine Eleven Tavern, where I was so happy to see what he had built there; Mark spoke with such pride of his girls, his family, his home. Like he said that day of our friend mutual friend...

I got to know Mark hanging out at Rappls in OP back in the 70’s & 80’s. He was a friend of my older brother. We’ve stayed in touch thru restaurant connections and I actually got to be in that little kitchen of his and watched him work. Hard working is an extreme understatement. RIP my friend. You will be missed!

Mark you were truly one of a kind. Always looked forward going to the 9-11 Tavern when I came back home to visit. My condolences to the Gress family

Kathy, Morgan and Paige, we are so shocked to hear the news of the passing of Mark and so very sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace and may you find strength in the memories of Mark as a husband and father.

Our deepest condolences to the Gress family. Mark was always so kind to us & we enjoyed many nights of laughs, conversation, & shuffleboard with him. He was one of a kind & will truly be missed!
