Not sure what to say?

If you try to find a definition of a smart, loyal, funny, decent and unique friend, you will find Mark and have a memory to treasure a whole life through. There is, and never was, his equal.

My co- editorial chairman at the DP, we roared together at Nixon, Vietnam, Chicago the draft... successfully, looking back. I was glad to reconnect at our 50th college reunion in 2019, and sorry to read of his passing in the Pennsylvania Gazette. Candy, we all lost a good friend.

We are so sorry to hear of this sudden loss and want you to know that we are sending our love and condolences and hope that with the help of love from family and friends, this journey will be more endurable. We wish we’d had the chance to meet Mark. He sounds like quite the man!

I knew him from his time with the Daily News & he was always the perfect gentleman, honest & trustworthy.

Mark was a mensch. He stood up for people when they needed it most. He will be missed.

Mark was my friend and fraternity brother in the 60s, and then 50 years went by. I am thankful that we reestablished contact last summer, and that I learned of his life. For all of his accomplishments, he was also a gentle soul, and I miss him.

Great mind, great reporter, great family man. Few like him ever. Mot importantly, a great friend. I will miss him.
