MARK LIEBERMAN Obituary

LIEBERMAN--Mark E., a creator of the Fair Fare, former New York Daily News reporter; researcher; banker; Fox Business Senior Economist; husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great- uncle and more, died of a heart attack, December 23, 2020 at age 72. He leaves behind his wife of more than 50 years, Candace Lieberman, his children: Charles Lieberman and his family, Gena and Caitlyn Radcliffe; and Rachel Lieberman and her partner Jarrett Waite. Mark graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1969. He had been president of the New York Press Club, the Inner Circle and Congregation Mount Sinai and a member of the board of trustees of the New York Community Service Society, City Limits Magazine, Citizen's Union, East Midwood Jewish Center and the Brooklyn Public Library; and a member of the New York Financial Writers Association, the Silurians, the National Association of Business Economists and of SABRE. When it's again safe to congregate, there will be a memorial celebration of his life. Donations may be sent to the New York Community Service Society.

My co- editorial chairman at the DP, we roared together at Nixon, Vietnam, Chicago the draft... successfully, looking back. I was glad to reconnect at our 50th college reunion in 2019, and sorry to read of his passing in the Pennsylvania Gazette. Candy, we all lost a good friend.

Mark was my friend and fraternity brother in the 60s, and then 50 years went by. I am thankful that we reestablished contact last summer, and that I learned of his life. For all of his accomplishments, he was also a gentle soul, and I miss him.
