Not sure what to say?

What a wonderful and generis kind soul person you are! I remember when I first met you at Wooster High School as my math teacher in A18 in 1996. I'm so sorry that it was your time to go home! Now days if ever you don't get to meet sweet angles like you. I'm just glad and honred that I was able to. You were more than just my teacher you were my confindon my friend and I thank you for that Smitty! Love your your Stepeyl Bear! I always love and remember you! Big hugs!

Here's to one of the most gifted educators I have ever known. Mark embodied the very best of our profession. He truly loved and believed in his students and set the bar high. His effort and passion brought joy and quality of life to his students and their lives were forever changed in those moments with him and beyond. It was a privilege and a pleasure to watch Mark teach, the likes of which I am sure will be difficult if not impossible to replace. His kindness and generosity of spirit...

I taught with Coach Smitty at Wooster many years ago. As we both moved on I would see him at school a few times a year and he always acted like we had just seen each other. You couldn't miss that smile! I enjoyed his energy and positivity. He always had time to give you a big hug and say hello. I know he helped and touched many students during his career. I am so sad to hear that he is no longer with us. I'm glad I met you! I feel so sorry for his family at this sad time. My condolences.

Great man gone way too soon, First kid to welcome me to the neighborhood when i was 13 in Medford, Or... broke a few windows shooting hoops!!

Smitty and I were roommates in college and then again after college. He was a groomsman in my wedding. We had lost contact for several years but were able to connect again in 2010. He was a very special person in my life and somebody whom I will never forget. Peace to his wonderful family.

I played college football with Mark and was a roommate of his for 1 year in college. He played football and lived his life with "passion" back in those days, and it sounds like his passion never left him. I was blessed to know him.

Smitty was one of the most loved coaches I have ever known. I coached track with him many times and athletes from all opposing schools respected and asked for his advice and knowledge, which he loved to share. He had a genuine love for life and shared it with all young people who were lucky enough to get close to him. He will be hugely missed as he was a great friend, mentor, leader, coach and more. He seemed to always be happy to be wherever he was.

Sending our prayers.... great guy who will
be missed.
