Not sure what to say?

John Boy, you were one of my favorite Captains to fly with at Delta. Not only an extraordinary gentleman but an outstanding pilot. The layers of your onion were never ending. I loved our conversations about music, Chicago and that Russian band that played Chicago tunes. I consider myself lucky to be called a friend. I sent you a text, when you finally upgraded to a "real" phone in January of 2024 wishing you a happy new year. Mark responded "nice picture" Little did I know that your angels...

So sorry to hear of Mark's passing. I had the privilege of serving with him in the 77th TFS. I can´t put my finger on why but there are certain aircrew that make an impression on you, and you never forget them. My job in the squadron was to take care of the aircrew´s flying equipment and I was just a lowly enlisted guy, but anytime I had to talk with him on some issue I always felt he respected what I had to do. This photo was one I shot while we were TDY to Turkey waiting for our return...

Mark was my instructor pilot when I arrived at RAF Upper Heyford-a fine one at that. It was a pleasure to fly and learn from him. Godspeed.

Like Doc Senechal, I knew Mark at RAF Upper Heyford. He was one of my instructors for my initial Mission Qualification training and continued to be a friend during my time in the F-111. Always someone you could count on - it saddens me to hear of his death.

I was a flight surgeon for the 77th TFS in RAF Upper Heyford in the mid-1980´s. Mark was my favorite IP to fly with. I was totally impressed with this fighter pilot who also played the trombone with the Oxford Symphony. He was a true renaissance man and a great friend. Peter Senechal, M.D.

Mark was just a great guy and in all respects! I had the honor to be crewed with him at RAF Upper Heyford in the F-111E after he'd graduated from the USAF FWS. I believe to this day that he was the only music major I ever flew with and I have over 2,200 F-111 hours (most of that as an instructor and FWS instructor). I vividly remember flying "Alexander's Pass" with him during deployments to Incirlik AB, Turkey in the early '80s: This was a deep, narrow, challenging bit of canyon flying...

Mark was an essential part of Northwest/Delta Flight Operations. Great pilot, fun to have a trip with, and a great mentor to the younger pilots.... Love and miss your smile and sense of "life is good!"

On the sky there is another shining star joining thousands of good people like you, man. You will be missed. P.S. Say hi to my brother, he is also up there. Rest in peace, you will be greatly missed... We love you Enrique and Brad.

Man-Myth-Legion Mark (SAC-Supreme Airline Commander for those of us who flew with him at the airlines) will never be forgotten! Great friend and mentor; he took me under his wing and taught me the Airbus. We had our CQs together for the remainder of NWA legacy, attended JB concerts in the Caribbean on the Pearl, and shared a many war stories. Only the few know of the reason why the famous mission he planned was called Eldorado Canyon. Love you brother! You are now an angel in spirit.
