Flora, Marlene (Hollis),
78, of New Albany, IN passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016.
Marlene was born on November 7, 1937 in New Albany, IN to the late Edrick & Clara (Priddy) Hollis. She was a fantastic cook and an exceptional gardener. Marlene loved antiquing and finding things to add to her collection.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, John Flora, Jr.; childrend, Judy Brewer (David), Carol Genkins (Terry) Joyce Flora, John Flora, III, Scott Flora (Michelle); sisters, JoAnn Chaffin, Pauline Ward, Linda Zeller (Mike); grandchildren, Jason (Teresa), Matthew (Brook), Whitney, Cody (Michelle), Carey, Megan, Brad (Michelle), Joshua (Jacque), Dallas; 10 great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Marian Rowley; brothers, Edrick "Peanut" Hollis & James "Buddy" Hollis.
Visitation will be from 12 to 6 PM Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

i still see one of her children once in a while; and it takes me back to a much better time ! oh how i love the memories she helped make!! The whole family was super friendly &so much fun to be around.....

we were neighbors with the floras on morton ave. i remember playing with judy,carol & joyce & sitting beside their house at night telling ghost stories!!!!! we had such fun. marlene let us sit in on sat. morning & watch cartoons with her kids,WOW, that was a houseful,her 5 & me & my sister!!! they were great neighbors. my mom & marlene used to go to "rummage" sales,when they first started & i remember getting soooo many sweatshirts, i never had to buy another one,ever!!!!! oh,what memories. i saw marlene just a few months ago at meijers,she didn't know who i was at first, but i made sure she did!!! i talked to her for a while!!!!! she hadn't changed a bit... her smile was so contagious!!!!!!!!so sorry for the family,she will be missed!!!!!!!
