I just learned today in reading the BC magazine of Marlene's passing, She served with distinction as Treasurer of the Undergraduate Government of Boston College. She was smart, serious and radiant.

To the O'Brien Family,
My apologies for this late note, but I just learned of Marlene's death yesterday when I read of it in the Boston College Magazine. She was a friend of mine at BC when we both served in student government together. Marlene was smart, hardworking, funny and one of the most ethical people I knew at BC. I remember her very fondly. My sincere condolences for your loss.

I was saddened to learn, just yesterday, that Marlene had passed. We were friends for the last 10 years, sometimes seeing each other weekly, but with stretches of months in between when life got busy. The last time I stopped by her house to visit must have been just a week or two before her hospitalization. She was looking and feeling as well as she had in several years; I will cherish that memory. Rest in Peace, Marlene.

"Sisters laugh together in the good times and comfort and support each other through the difficult moments in life. Their loss leaves a void in our lives that is so hard to fill." Author unknown. I miss you so much Marlene, their are days that I cannot believe you are gone. I will love you until the day I die. Until we meet again, RIP my dear sister. Love always, Maggie

To the Obrien Family,
I was traveling on business when I heard the news about Marlene. I'm so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Marlene for several years at MembersFirst. She took care of us underlings and was so funny and a spitfire. I will never forget her helping me through a very difficult time in my life. She organized my going away party when I decided to relocate with the company to FL. That was Marlene, always putting others first and taking care of her work...
