SWISS MARSHA E. SWISS (Age 82) Marsha E. Swiss, died October 5, 2022, peacefully and without regret, following the Jewish Kol Nidre service. Not sure what to say?

I hired Marsha as my lawyer in 1973 when I was a summer intern at the White House and found out that I had been working illegally. I didn't even know what a green card was. She got me out of my scrape and I still remember the Latin phrase she used with the INS officer: "nunc pro tunc." It means "now for then." I had dug up my application letter for the job to show that in the letter I had said that I was Canadian and asked if it was alright to work there. So Marsha argued that we should...

I was her classmate and friend at HLS and she really could give it back to Prof. Byse. She became our hero when Byse said something and Marsha said "that's not nice Mr. Byse". Even he started to laugh and the 2 of them made the class enjoyable. It was clear Prof. Byse started to favor Marsha as his best student. I remember her well and am sorry for your loss. Len Kopelman HLS '65.

We knew Marsha for only a brief period of time in New Mexico but feel so blessed that we had that opportunity. She was a lovely, kind person with a wonderful sense of humor.

Single Memorial Tree

Marsha was my father's cousin and best friend when they were young. Unfortunately, they lost touch through the years and I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person - though we did exchange emails and old family photos which I treasure. So many lives were touched by this lovely soul with a brilliant mind. Peace to all who knew and loved her

An absolutely singular person, it was my very good fortune to sit next to Marsha at a Freer Gallery talk which both of us found somewhat disappointing and that led to a long and profoundly interesting conversation afterward. That in turn led to many more such conversations over the years, and the joy of meeting and getting to know Ron (with yet more ensuing such conversations and our active sharing of similar tastes in art and music). Z'L. May her memory be a blessing, to all as it...

I worked with Miss Swiss on a matter relating to an adult in need of Protective Services. I enjoyed my time working with her on the case. She was diligent hardworking and easy to get along with. I regret not having learned of her passing sooner. My condolences and continued best wishes to her friends and family.

Marsha always came into our aerobic dance class with a smile. She and Ron enjoyed the workout and were a wonderful addition to the class. I treasure my memories of this cheerful, thoughtful, accomplished woman with the beautiful smile.
