Martha Ann Grantham Asher

October 30, 1941 - July 13, 2025

Chattanooga, Tennessee - Martha Ann (Grantham) Asher met her Lord face to face on July 13, 2025. She was born October 30, 1941 in Nichols, SC but lived much of her life in Myrtle Beach SC before moving to Chattanooga, TN. Martha loved teaching Spanish at Savannah Christian Preparatory School and Myrtle Beach High School. She was an active member of Ridgedale Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the senior adult choir.

Martha is survived by daughter Angie Smith (Mike), son Jeff Asher (Danielle), grandchildren Julia Mitchell (Daniel), Emily Wenz (Coleton), Sarah Watson (Nicholas), Samantha, Owen, and Logan Asher, 4 great grandchildren, and sister Moonyeen Blanton. She was preceded in death by parents Wilson Earl and Mildred Miller Grantham, and grandson Jackson Smith.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 18, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Pastor Doug Plumlee presiding.

In lieu of flowers, Martha would be honored by donations to Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421 or www.ridgedalebaptist.org.
