My grief for my great friend Marty will stay with me forever.Marty was a true friend.Iknew that the first day I met him my first day at O.U in 1972. I'm so glad we always kept in touch over the years. His mom made the best sloppy joes ever! We even drove Marty's old green van all the way down to ft. Laulderdale for spring break listening to Johnny Cash the whole way down and back. Marty was responsible for my love of true country music. My heart and prayers go to Sandy the boys and family on this most difficult of times.I will be in touch with you Sandy,as Sally is thinking of you to. I wish I was there sharing all the good memories of a great man who I had the great pleasure of calling him my friend Marty Cahill. A true Irishman to the day he was born! I love you marty and will miss you ....... Your Pal Vietz

"Hey, Pal, set 'em up!," as we used to always say. Can't believe it. As roommates, as teammates, and, more than anything, as someone I called friend for 40 years, I will miss you.

April 21, 2015

We are so sorry for your loss! Greater Linden Development Corporation worked with Marty for many years through our contract with the City of Columbus for 'weed abatement', and I think all of the staff would agree that there was no one quite like Marty! Before Marty retired, he even won our Public Servant of the Year Award because of his commitment to making our Linden neighborhood better. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!
